June, 2008 Update:
The proposed SR 169 Fain Road Connector and the Chino Valley Extension will be vital transportation corridors for the quad-city area. These connectors in conjunction with the Great Western Extension from SR89A, are planned to be a part of a future road system connecting I-17 to I-40.
The Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization (CYMPO) has hired Civiltec Engineering and HDR to study these two proposed routes and prepare a planning level document describing feasible one-half mile wide corridors.
The study commenced in March, 2008, and is schedule to be completed in early 2009.
Property owners potentially affected by the corridors will be contacted by the consultant to explain the process and project details along with two general public meetings to explain the corridors and obtain public comments. The date and location of these two meetings will be announced at a later time on this web site along with announcements in the public news media.
Progress meetings with public agencies and the consultant are held the second Thursday, each month, at the Yavapai County Public Works office, 1100 Commerce, Prescott, AZ, with a general public meeting at 2:30 PM at the same location.
